Roskilde Festival 2013

IMG_20130703_234957Helloooo Roskilde!!

I’ve only been to Roskilde Festival once before, back in 2003, so it was good to be back! I’ll show you some snaps from the days we were there..

IMG_20130703_230314Our first night a Roskilde was Wednesday. We went by the Galla-party in Camp Lime to meet some friends and to keep warm by dancing! .. aaaii Macarena!

The designers: Me, Mette Marko and Soffi Mbenga

I worked as a designer for H&M at Roskilde, and in return I got my ticket. I worked all Thursday on opening day, and me and two other designers made accessories and t-shirts for the Swap Shop. Festival guest could come and swap their old (and dirty) clothing/accessories to new ones. The overlying theme for the H&M Reboot area was sustainability, and I think it came across pretty well.

IMG_20130703_200324Before the festival, we also had to prepare a lot of things. One thing was to upgraded a hammock for the H&M hammock-lounge. I made the one with triangles.

IMG_20130705_125112Friday we attended the “Taste of Lolland-Falster” lunch at Roskilde. The ever handsome Rødder was cooking, and as always the food was beautiful and tasty! We has three courses, beer and dessert wine for only 110 kroner! This is a must if you attend Roskilde next year – and there are lots of other social dining experiences as well.

IMG_20130705_144421Many fun activities to do at Roskilde..

IMG_20130707_201047– but we also did a lot of chilling in the sun!

IMG_20130719_094853– And eating!

IMG_20130706_000843Between that we got to hear a lot of music too…

Did you attend Roskilde festival this year??

Jabra Event // Casa Magnifica

IMG_20130612_180756IMG_20130612_184905IMG_20130612_180419 IMG_20130612_175447 IMG_20130715_232949 IMG_20130715_233152 IMG_20130613_073024

About a month ago, I was invited to a cozy and intimate event by Pencil PR and Jabra, at the “secret” restaurant Casa Magnifica. It was a very warm (read: hothothot) afternoon, so I didn’t complain when we were put on the rooftop terrace with a cool glass of bubbles while waiting for the rest to show up.

Jabra is a Danish brand that develops headsets and speaker phones, and the point of the event was for Jabra to introduce some of the new products for us – the JABRA REVO speakerphones and the JABRA SOLEMATE bluetooth speaker. First we had good introduction and presentation of the brand and products from one of the Jabra guys. To emphasize that Jabra really is good products with thought for both quality sound and design, the ever handsome DJ Thomas Madvig, personal user of the REVO speakerphones, endorsed them with fine comments (and sound) afterwards.

After the presentation, we were free to try the products out. I tried the speaker phones, and was truly amazed. I have never really cared for speaker phones I guess as I’ve always used some who came with my phone, or bought a cheap pair, but wow – this was great sound! Thomas helped me find a good track so I really could hear the quality of the speaker phones. They are completely soundproof in a way that you can’t heard anything that goes on around you – but people around you also can’t hear your music playing. How great is that! I hate when people “share” their music in the train because of shabby headphones.

Back on the rooftop terrace, the gourmet chef, owner of Casa Magnifica and former chef at NOMA, Boris Buono, served one delicious treat after another. Oh-my-taste-buds! As a food-lover I’ve read about Casa Magnifica before, but never really thought I’d get a chance to visit the social dining secret that serves menues starting from 1000 DKR and up, and only houses 12 guests at a time this soon. But I did – and I was happy to!

When it was time to say goodbye, we we’re told we could choose either a set of speaker phones or a speaker to take with us home. I was a bit torn, as the speaker phones had impressed me quite much, but because I hardly never use speaker phones I chose to bring home a SOLEMATE (cute name right?). The Jabra Solemate is a small and handy transportable bluetooth spreaker. I’ve been testing it for more than a month now, and I really like it. Is easy to use because of the bluetooth, it speaks to you (!!), and when you have it connected with you phone, you can even answer your calls though it. There’s speakers on both sides which makes the sound spread in all directions, and it can easily fill up our two living rooms with music. Best of all is the simple and cool design. I’ve always hated speakers for being ugly and space obtaining, but this one is not only good sound, it’s pretty too.

Sorry for this looong post, but didn’t want to leave too much out. When you find a good product, it deserve some space :)

An Update In Pictures

IMG_20130612_180150

On a hot day a few weeks ago, I was invited to an event by Jabra involving new Jabra products, cool music and lovely food. I got to bring home a Jabra SOLEMATE (a blootooth transportable speaker) that I’m currently testing. I’ll give you a review later – but so far so good!

The event was held at Casa Magnifica that holds a rooftop terrace with this beautiful view of Copenhagen. Oh joy on a sunny day!

IMG_20130615_215512We finally got to pay back all the favours our friends had done for us by helping us move, fixing the apartment and so on. We invited them all for a lovely dinner and a bit of festivas!

IMG_20130620_181858Last week my boyfriend’s mother came to visit for four days – she bought me flowers!

IMG_20130621_115614I invited her out for a doctor-fish treatment. She is now thinking of getting an aquarium!

IMG_20130622_200829We got three beautiful Royal Copenhagen serving dishes in graduation gift – broke them in the same evening. They go well with our anne black dishes.

IMG_20130623_124959Sunday, we all drove up to Louisiana – Museum of Modern Art. Loooooved the Tara Donovan exhibition! Not so fond of Yoko Ono’s though, but this wish tree was pretty nice. I love the gardens at Louisiana, especially the Lake Garden.

IMG_20130625_183911Yesterday I dropped by Lidkoeb for a free (!) dinner and drinks event. Liquid Management served some impressive drinks with Monkey Shoulder whisky, Rødder made some delicious food and The Orgelheimers (Organ beat music!) sat the tone. Very cozy evening. I should really go out more on weekdays..

Happy Birthday Cake

One of my good friends (and my bf’s roommate) turned 26 earlier this week. He invited the whole gang for buns, coffee and cake, so I decided to help him out a bit by making a birthday cake (which also was my present for him.)

In the cake is one layer of chocolate bar (mars) mousse with chunks of chocolate. One layer of whipped cream with mashed blueberries on a spread of raspberry jam. And on the top is chocolate icing, chopped almonds and fresh blueberries. All the cake layers are chocolate cake  dripped with fresh orange juice and a bit of rum. Oh yum! Think I’ll make something similar at my own birthday in a few weeks.

I Like It Black

Me And Disko.com

After I learned I was lactoses intolerant, I slowly went from café latte to all black. My favourite mug from designer anne black is the “black is blue” – I tend to chose this every time I drink my coffee at work (must get some myself, now I’m not gonna work there as often). How do you like your morning coffee?

Yesterday I went fishing with my dad, in an near by put’n’take lake. He caught 4 trouts and I, of course, caught nothing!! N o t h i n g !!

..At least I managed to get something on the hook, when my dad went in the water trying to get his hook free from the sea grass.. Would have been more fun, had he been a bigass fish though!

Sunny Saturday

Yesterday, after work, I went to celebrate a classmate’s birthday on Amager beach. The sun was up and the weather was great! We chilled all afternoon with beers and bbq. Afterward we went by Bas Under Buen – a music event held under a highway bridge. All together a perfect Saturday.

Saturday I was invited to Rødder’s staff-summer-party. If you’re not already familiar with Rødder, I can tell you it’s a Copenhagen based pop up dinner experience, run by three fantastic guys (who just happens to be marvellous cooks as well.) If you ever get the chance to participate in one of their pop up dinners, you should definitely do so. They make great food made from local products in season, and serve it with fine biodynamic wines – all at a very fair price. What’s not to like? Anyways, I’m lucky to have gotten to known these guys though my friend M, and to be invited for a dinner my taste buds won’t forget for a long time.  If the pictures make you hungry, keep and eye out for the next Rødder event right here.
